The Quartz Sand of OLYMPUS SA is produced by quartzite, an industrial mineral extracted from the company’s recently licensed quarry, which will be its most competitive product for the following reasons.
It is a huge deposit, capable of meeting the needs of the domestic and foreign markets for many years.
However, the quality of the deposit is what gives the quarry special value. It is an “absolutely” homogeneous high purity mineral (no harmful impurities) with SiO2 content >95% and high hardness (7Mohs) which makes it resistant to mechanical and chemical stresses.
The homogeneity of the product relates to color, chemical composition, mechanical properties and granulometry and is due to the combination of an excellent quality raw material and its specialized mechanical processing equipment (the quarry is only a few kilometers distant from our premises).
Quartz Sand is available in different granular fractions (1.0-0.3mm, 0.3-0.8mm, 0.3-1.2mm, 0.4-2.4mm, 3-7mm) in 25kg bags and in mega sacks (big-bags). Custom grading is also possible on request.
